Bioflex – Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT)
What is Low Intensity Laser Therapy?
Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) is the use of monochromatic light emission from low intensity diode or an array of high intensity Super Luminous Diodes to treat musculoskeletal injuries, chronic & degenerative conditions and to heal wounds. The light source is placed in contact with tissue allowing photon energy to penetrate and interact with various intracellular biomolecules, resulting in the restoration of normal cell morphology & function. This therapy enhances the body’s natural healing process.
What Does Low Intensity Laser Therapy Do?
By affecting and reversing the course of offending pathology at the cellular level, laser therapy optimizes the restoration of injured tissue to return to a normal level with regard to both structure and function. This leads to the alleviation of symptoms, including pain. The beneficial effects of laser therapy are cumulative over the course of a series of treatments.
How Long Does a Treatment Take?
Treatments vary from 15 minutes to one hour in length depending on the condition and area treated.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
The number of treatments will vary with regard to the individual problem. Just as every medical condition varies, so is the response to therapy. The onset of pain relief varies depending on each patient’s response to LILT. In a recent clinical report based on over 1000 patients treated with the BioFlex Professional LILT system, patients averaged 9.2 treatments to resolve their condition. For some patients, one treatment is sufficient; in others, more may be required.
Are There Any Contraindications to Laser Therapy?

The first trimester of pregnancy and patients on photoactive medication.
Note that the LILT technology is safe for patients who have implants, hardware and other restorative materials from previous surgeries.
