Saliva Hormone

Hormone testing is a clinically useful method for evaluating imbalances in hormone function. Along with the patients symptoms, it can be an effective tool for providing insight into hormone excesses or deficiencies.

Hormones have been accurately measured in saliva for over 30 years. Saliva testing is more cost effective than urinary testing, but it is not as comprehensive re the amount of information we are able to collect.

Common Tests Offered:

1. Female Panel
This includes estradiol (estrogen), progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and morning cortisol.

2. Female Panel with 4 point cortisol curve
This includes the above hormones + 3 more cortisol values over a 12 hour timeframe. Cortisol values vary throughout the day. This test provides a more comprehensive view.

3. Male Panel
This includes estadiol (estrogen), progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, and morning cortisol.

4. Single Hormone
This may be estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol and is commonly used to retest items that may have tested problematic in the panel.

Other tests are available upon request.
